Thanks bud, it also has a die chip on the 1st 5 of the date. This one toned up nicely in an old coin album of mine...DEX
Just picked this one up for mid 64 money. Becomes a conditional rarity in 65 and above, and it sure is close.
I was wondering the same thing.. The obverse has a weak strike..even for an "O" mint Morgan, but the reverse is stronger than most of the same. But there are no distracting marks and the luster is awesome. Nice coin!
Had a nice surprise in the mail today from our friend and fellow forum member dmott (lotsofmotts). Thanks Daniel, it's a beauty! I have had nothing but great experiences in dealing with him. Check out his ebay store if you are so inclined.
I call this coin SPLAT because of it's toning pattern, pretty wild. This is one out of an original 1955 mint set. I've owned these since the 60's, but I no longer own the envelopes they came in. I have a stack of these old green cardboard paper sets, 1954 & 55. Many doubles...DEX
By looking at these stunningly gorgeous coins it makes you wonder if Picaso had his hand in these. All I can say is WOW!!!
Now that looks more like Devinci if you ask me and I would love to have one like that. Man where did you come across one like that. I cant ever find those even though I spend countless of hours searching. I hate not having a coin shop around my new location. When I was up in norther CA I would go to Chico and visit the Penny Ranch and Chico Gold and Silver but I never came across anything like that.
