In 1953, there were multiple versions of the half dollar. If I remember correctly, the first several halves were struck, and then there was an uproar because it appeared as if the queen was not wearing anything on her upper body. So they later added two curved lines to appear as if there was a shoulder strap so it looked like she was wearing a dress or gown. So the first distinction is "shoulder strap" or "no shoulder strap" (sometimes also called shoulder fold or no shoulder fold). Other than the two lines you can also tell between the two if you look at the letter "I" in the word "DEI" on the obverse. In the earlier no strap variety, the I is more like an I or )( while the strap variety is a straight line like |. If you look at yours, you can clearly see she has no strap, and the i has the flared ends so you have a no-strap variety (also compare the I to the I in your 1957 to see the difference).

To confuse everyone more, there are two varieties of the no-strap! Large date and small date. I think the "3" is what you need to look at and compare how close the hoof of the unicorn-type animal comes to the 3. The small date no-strap carries a small premium over the strap variety, but the big one to get is the large-date no-strap. There were very few of these compared to the other two. It is easily a $100-150 or more coin in MS.

I'll check the difference in the large date and see what yours is, but IIRC the small date has a larger gap between the hoof and the 3, while the large date is closer.

    I'll do some research

4 Franklins that ran away from home (Gbroke), and have found a new home with Morgandude, who will feed them and take care of them well:

Won two Rosies yesterday off of Greatcollections. Overpayed on the 1960 but I had to have that beautiful toned coin. Its worth $5 Paid $7 + $5 buyers fee and $2 shipping. The 1956 is worth $15 picked it up for $5 + $5 buyers fee and $2 shipping so I did ok on that one. Still love them both so I am happy with them.

CAC coin sale on E-bay. Picked this one up as a best offer. LOVE the gold toning on the obverse:

Not so sure about the half, but the nickel is definitely. Still pretty, though.

Unfortunately, I am 100% sure. I know exactly the process used to do this.

I am pretty sure posting a "how to AT a coin" like this is not a good idea. There are enough AT sellers on ebay as there is.
