1919 SLQ and 1900 Morgan Picked up these two today. 1919 SLQ is slabbed PCGS MS63 and the 1900 Morgan is raw.
I think maybe I posted this in the "NEWPS" thread? I can't remember. Picked this one up from Ankur about 2 weeks ago for my type set.
WOW! That's an absolute KNOCKOUT! Exactly how a coin of that age should look...nice man. I know little about these, but is that an AU or EF grade...I'm guessing AU.
I watched a LOT of these sell in the past 6 months in the XF40 to AU55 range. I never pulled the trigger because I was looking for something very particular. This one is graded XF45, with a CAC green bean. It was definitely worth the wait.
I have never really been a fan of toned coins. That said, I have seen many that looked really nice, rainbow and neon types of colors best. I have alway's thought it was silly not not want coins as pristine as they could be and as close to stamping condition as possible. But that is not the world we collect in. As such I have a lot of tones coins as do you. But I do not seek them out and if I have a choice between a perfect untoned coin, and a rainbow of the same coin, I am going for perfect.
I know she's not much to look at from the front, but what a rear. I haven't seen much orange on a coin before.
Nice to have Lehigh back around to put everyone in their place.. nice morg's there big man. Tater.. beauty there too. Here are a couple new'uns from the cheap seats...
Here's a new one. It's on its way, don't have it in hand yet. PCGS MS 64. Could have cared less about the grade on this one.
Got this one a little while back, just got around to getting a pic of it. Nothing special but has a pretty tone to it on the front.
My 2c Wow Very nice TJ!!:thumb: Pcgs is always under-graded a toned coin for a John Q Public. if submitted by H.A. or Stacks etc had it graded would be a MS-65/67 :kewl:
