Just won this at auction. Hopefully this guy looks nice in hand, I am having some buyers remorse. It was graded 65, and I paid 66+ price for it when you include fees/shipping. It looked to me like a 66 or 66+ depending on the luster, plus it has a nice strike for a 26-S. What do you think?
Pretty coin but I think the lighting was played with a bit in a photog editing software to enhance the blues. Again, just my opinion.
It is a Heritage Auction photo. I don't think they do that. Particularly for low value coins like this, it is pretty much the same process they use for photographing all coins.
Given that you ASKED for our opinion, IMO that is a no brainer AT coin. It appears to be in a PCGS holder, which just confirms my opinion that over the last 3 years PCGS has given up on weeding out AT.
I've seen this style coin more and more recently. Not saying you are supplying, just using your coin as an example. Usually common date Morgans with decent to better toning. The toning is muted and hiding the condition of the coin since the coin is covered in a soft grease/non abrasive powder mixture to mimic old shop mechanic oil. Anyone else notice more appearing or is it the same as it always is?
Awesome. I hope to own one someday... one of the best reverse designs of all the early commems in my opinion.
