Well I just picked this one up. A PCGS MS 63 with great toning. The photography is nice, but not quite clear enough to VAM, so I will wait for it to arrive. Probably needs a name if anyone has a suggestion!
I see toning from end of a roll that had a rubber band holding both end coins within the roll. Album like toning from the sulfur in the paper roll and almost terminal from the rubber band. As for a name? The reverse looks like the "no smoking" sign. No Eagles allowed?
I like your thinking and had not thought about the roll angle as I usually attribute this type toning to an album where the cardboard touched evenly all around the rim. But you are right that a roll would produce the same effect. But usually the end roll coins I see are toned on only one side and have fold marks across one side from the flaps. It could also be a coin that was not end roll and some debris got between two coins. I do like your thinking on "No Eagles allowed"
Jeez, saw this blown up on my huge monitor for work not realizing it was animated and thought we were having an earthquake for a second. Phew...
