You should see it in hand!! The images were shot using a combination of axial and direct light, so the luster is muted quite a bit. But in hand, the luster is just wow!! The lime green and lemon yellows on the obverse just explode with the luster. The reverse is nothing short of wow!! I was honestly surprised my dealer didn't charge a heck of a lot more for it.
Market acceptable: Yes. Market desirable: I don't think so. That coin looks near terminal on the obverse.
Doesn't terminal toning mean black, or close to it? The base color of the coin is light violet, with green/blue/orange highlights.
Not seeing anything terminal looking, where are you seeing this on obverse? I think it's market acceptable and has a market where it's desirable. I like the reverse personally myself and am neutral on the obverse. I think I'd worry more about the grade when considering sending it in. If it's worth it to you to send in for what looks to be a 64-65 (?) then I'd say go for it. I probably would.
