A wild new toned proof that I just had TrueViewed. The seller called this "Raspberry Sunset". I bought this raw off ebay for $18 and PCGS put a PR65RB grade on it.
A couple from the cheap seats off the 'bay.. no idea how the cent got prf66 from pcgs.. must have been post slab toning. I've heard of the 'red' toned prf cents from the FYears, so was happy to get this one up close to see what it was all about. the nickel is a pretty weak strike, but the blue toning is super. completely covering most of the obv and reverse.. pic does not capture all the blue in this coin.
No, YOUR toned coins RULE! Seriously, you have always had an amazing bounty of toners. You gathered some amazing examples that I have always admired viewing and learning from you about them. :thumb: Hope you're doing well. Regards. :smile
My wife saw this as i was browsing some coins on ebay and was fascinated by toning so i told her i would buy it (i think it is AT but i didnt care as the color is so strong and she loved it!)
I don't think I've posted this Peace dollar here. It has been in an NGC member's collection for about 15 years. It has been housed in a capital holder since before my friend acquired it. He will finally send it in for grading in the near future. Cropped with background Image straight from camera before cropping and adding background.
I have a Canon 7D and a couple of macro lenses. I use Photoshop for cropping and minor level tweaking when needed. This one didn't need any tweaking at all. The first image was cropped from the bottom image with the capital holder.
Here is another of Lehigh's coins. First 2 are his pic and the rest are mine. FWIW, I think my obverse is actually closer to the colors than his, but his reverse beats the crap out of mine.
Picked this one up at Long Beach this weekend... it has just a little bit of toning I knew I wouldn't be able to accurately capture the color so I had Todd of BluCC Photos image the coin for me... as always, the pics came out really nice:
