NGC called it "altered color"... the only coin from my last submission that didn't get a straight grade. Not sure what to do with it now. I like it but apparently it's NT.
I've seen this a lot on Indian Head Cents. Some are more obvious than others. What you do depends on if you like the coin. If you like it before NGC graded it, then you should still like it now. Either keep it in the holder or crack it out and put in a capsule. You could always try to resubmit it raw or send to PCGS later on. If you never really liked it, you can try selling it (there may be some buyers who like it regardless of NGC's stance).
I've already resubmitted it with the same results, so I won't try it again. Nice coin, but not good enough for a type set collection.
You can try seeing if anyone here or an ebay would purchase it (try pricing it at break-even [taking fees / shipping into consideration] or whatever you are comfortable with).
Nice coin! Always like seeing naturally toned raw Morgans. Here's a toned Walker I picked up last week.
Finally got around to photographing this one 1987 Silver Eagle, came in a First Day of Issue card with stamp and phone card, I just wanted the coin.
I'm guessing it was on the holder possibly from the bottom of my light. It looks like the black fuzzy like stuff on the bottom of my lamp. I'll have to check.
Found this roll searching, sunburst toning, pretty cool pocket change though...I obviously kept it. I wonder if I could grab a PCGS AU-58? I think it'd be cool in that slab!
