I would like to buy #3 and #10 lol. great color. nice to know you are alive. have not seen or heard from you in ages. literally.
Thanks it's one my Dad passed down to me. I would have it graded but I think my mom put in a silverware safe while I was in Army. She did know that would damage it.
I'm fairly certain it's natural, but I am not above being fooled. The reverse has slight blue toning on just the outter edges. That's why I didn't picture. Bought from a reputable dealer, so I'd be interested to hear thoughts on natural or artificial.
Whitman old Blue folders will cause toning like the 1949 Roosevelt Dime has .But I Am Not a Expert. * Pcgs coin sniffer will tell all unless it's a MS 66+FB But costly for most Roosevelt Dimes.
I have some dimes that look like that also. They came out of an old Whitman folder. Hmmmm. Very interesting Jello.
There is no way you can be certain about the originality the toning on that Roosevelt. The color progressions and and color schemes are not consistent with typical patterns seen on Roosevelt Dimes. And you should always post the reverse because the toning correspondence between the obverse and reverse is important in determining the originality of the toning. I assembled a registry set of toned Roosevelt Dimes and never did I see a graded example dominated by burnt orange, purple, and sage green. IMO, the toning is not market acceptable and should be considered a problem coin with questionable toning. Now, all I have to go on is a rather blurry photo of the obverse. Perhaps an in hand inspection of the coin would make me change my mind, but I doubt it.
Some more recent purchases. Some of you may know I am a very enthusiastic collector of toned Mexico One Pesos. Just when I thought I couldn't find any nicer ones than what I already have, this guy came into my life. These aren't too shabby either. This is an absolute super gem. Proof-like with a cameo appearance and beautiful toning on the reverse. Just look at all those die polish lines! Look I said!!! 1938 Yugoslavia 50 Dinara 1962 Canada One Dollar eh A nice Merc A nice EOR toned Kennedy An ASE for my toned type set These are from an old, original bank wrapped roll. Gorgeous luster and color on all of them.
