Pulled this dime out of a bag last week. I don't have a proper photography set up but hopefully you can see sort of what it looks like. It is absolutely beautiful in hand.
Thanks. The colors are very deep and vibrant in hand. The parts that are not green/purple/blue are a nice gold color.
There is nothing wrong with your setup. Set your white balance and you will be surprised how much better it looks.
...Yeah...I'll have to figure out how to do that I only figured out how to take super macro images a few months ago
Your pictures are sharp, show at least some luster and some color, but it is easy to see the color is off. It should not be hard to set the white balance. BTW, I would suggest you set it manually in stead of using the presets, but even those would be a big step there.
Not sure how the toning happened on this one. Might have been artificially done But still looks cool.
It is better than the first for sure, but you are going to have to tell me if that is really what the coin looks like. My guess is that there is too much yellow, but it might be there.
The 2nd picture is a lot closer to what it actually looks like. It's the silver that isn't quite showing up, like on his cheek and neck. Those places look like a normal dime. The yellow places are actually yellow.
