My 26 S is pretty steely blue on brown. Matches pretty well on both sides. This coin has decent mint luster for the grade at MS 64 BN which was the finest most interesting example I could find for the money. I could quite possible go the to the end of my days with this one! Picked it up at the 2010 ANA show in Milwaukee. Matt
Hey Illini420, I finally got a TrueView to compare my $138 bargain 1909 vdb MS65 RB biz strike with the $200,000+ 1909 vdb PR67+ RB matte proof lincoln. I had made a previous comment that I thought the coloration (only) was a tiny bit similar. I have to admit that I bow down in awe to the $200,000 matte proof - I think that is about as beautiful as Lincolns come. But I still think it's cool that I have a coin that has a tiny bit of a similar look at less than 1/1000th of the price. Maybe think of my coin as the poor distant cousin of a rich relative.
Just a first photo shot.. there are colors there some green and blues along with some pinkish/red.. will try for better shots today.. Second try....better lighting...That is the flip that is shiny at the top... still not great photos..
Now that is just like stabbing someone and then twisting it for the shear pleasure of it... Those are beauties!!!
Just bought this tonight ... This might be my favorite Eagle on a modern commemorative -- and rainbow toning just doesn't get much better than this.
