I posted this in another thread, and I wanted to hear more about the toning. I don't claim to know if this is AT or NT, and I didn't buy this coin for the toning. But perhaps someone can give me an opinion about the toning...

 

NT all day Paul. Who knows what the TPG's would say, but this toning took a long time to occur. Beauty.

 

In an old fatty NGC holder. Sort of unique toning for a Jeff Nickel.

 

MA.. book toned. Could have taken 20 years or 2 weeks.. no one can say for sure. I'd guess 85-90% chance at a tpg, maybe even better. Nice coin, but I'm not a big fan of brown cruddy toning on the rims, especially if it has a residue appearance to it.

NT, and album toned. Years sitting in the album. Absolutely gorgeous coin!!!

As I am purging much of my collection, I pulled out an old Kennedy album full of toners for re-imaging. Here are 71-80 and the 83 I just had to shoot before I get to the rest of the album.

They are part of Skyman's Collection. He resides at both PCGS and NGC message boards under the Skyman moniker. I photographed a good part of his collection over the past 5 years. I'm sure he had added few more since

Wow, it sux to follow those beauties up with my Frankie. Oh well, at least I didn't pay squat for mine since I pulled it out of the junk bin.

 

Here is some new pics of a few toner Morgans and a Peace dollar. I am still working on the new setup. I need to find something to get my camera further away from the coins cause some of the pics are a little blurry. I spent entirely too much time tonight doing these and I didn't find out they were blurry until I hooked up the camera to the PC. I wish I could have my camera connected WHILE taking the pics, it would be SO MUCH easier. Oh well.
