Attacks? What attacks? You mean like calling an unidentified group of people you don't know "coin snobs".

Perhaps someone of your self admitted limited knowledge should concentrate more on learning rather than making disparaging remarks about experienced collectors who are engaged in a constructive debate.

Ya know, it doesn't require a certain level of knowledge about coins to make comments like he made Paul. Especially since his comments had nothing to do with coins but rather about people and their actions. And he has as much right to say what he said, as you have to say what you just said.

Your right. Taking shots at others is easy. Is that the kind of forum you want this to be? Or would you rather have people who make positive contributions by making meaningful and educational numismatic posts?

Well what did you just do Paul except to take a shot at him ? Pot is calling kettle black I think.

What would I rather have ? I'd rather have a forum where nobody takes a shot at anybody.

But when you start thinking that only those who make what you call meaningful & educational numismatic posts should be posting - that's when you become what he was talking about - a coin snob.

I absolutely did not take a shot at him. I called him out! There is a big difference, and you know it.

I'd rather have a forum where someone can (slightly) lose their temper or be a little snotty or be sarcastic without having to explain and apologize. We all love coins, so lets make allowances for human foibles. Kiss, kiss.

I think we should allow disagreements and if it gets too ugly then we step in. but if the punch up stays within the 1970's standards we let it continue. if we sweep things under the carpet it gets ugly for everyone and resentment builds up.

you know for the most part I think you are the best mod going around on the planet. It is not an easy thing to not let power go to your head. it is also not easy to walk the thin line between being a tyrant and a disciplinarian but you walk the tight rope quite nicely.

and don't worry if you fall I am waiting down here for you :D

o_O Maybe in your mind Paul but certainly not in mine. Nor do I think in anybody else's.

As a matter of fact I don't think even in your mind seeing as how you said - You're right. Taking shots at others is easy.

And now you say you didn't ? Color me confused.

But the part that really got me was the unmitigated arrogance you showed by making your other comment in that post.

This guy shows up and calls a group of people who he is too cowardly to identify "coin snobs" and complains that the "inner circle" is attacking Bahabully.

All I did was point out that he was the first to make an attack and point out that we were having a civil debate about the subject and that I did not appreciate his comment on the subject, especially since he admittedly doesn't know much about the content matter of the debate.

    That is not at attack!

When I said "taking shots at others is easy", I was talking about him, not me Doug! My contribution to this forum over the years is undeniable. His lone contribution has been to stir the pot in this thread by taking a shot at others.

And if we are going talk about the pot calling the kettle black, "unmitigated arrogance" is your absolute specialty.
