    I only have A few .
This one has a minor but elongated rim hit.
Otherwise quite attractive for the grade.

A "restrike" of the Confederate Half Dollar, made by the Scott Stamp and Coin Company of New York circa 1875.

    1861 Confed Rest All.jpg

Here is an example of the medal they made in white metal before they attempted to make the piece the piece shown above. They were concerned that the Confederate die would break if it were used to strike a silver coin.

The Scott Company claimed that they acquired 500, 1861-O half dollars to make their Confederate restrike pieces. The reverses were planed off, and the Confederate die was used to restrike them. The 1861-O half dollar is a common date date. Here is an example in EF, which was probably the average grade the Scott Company used for their product.

I am committing the CT cardinal sin. Football is on and I don’t feel like leaving my easy chair to photograph the reverse….. But she is one of the lives of my life.

Here are a few CAC examples for which I have pics. I very much enjoy this series and have gravitated to collecting them as they have brought comfort during a challenging health year for me. The second two shown have PL surfaces.
