Any gold USA & World coin and Lincolns-Half Dimes- Kennedy & Ike's I collect. but have been pick up more world coin from the 1800-1965 lately
Thanks! Yeah, all I have that somewhat works is my phone camera, which isn't all that great. I have a lot of nice toners I'd like to have photographed someday. Guy~
2 peace dollars i got at the CSNS show. the 23 is ngc ms64 and i dont think any picture i could take will show the toning right.
Alrighty then!! I got my high relief and here it is, lighted partly by my son holding a flashlight. True story and totally lame but I'm working on getting proper lighting. I saw one the other day online and I'll be getting it soon. Just as soon I stop buying coins before everything else. I didn't include the reverse pic b/c the flashlight showed too much on that one.
Not a huge peace dollar fan, but this is my one-and-only toned (and simultaneously AU+) example. Think I should get it slabbed?
Mycohopper only if I could find a top 50 Peace Dollar Vam's on the 1922,but it is a nice toned coin!!! here a link to look for vam's on it,good luck:thumb: www.ashmore.com/vamupdate
First post, but I've been a lurker for a bit on this site. Figured I had to start posting sometime and why not with one of the most beautiful coins ever minted?
My only good one. It was a gift from the GF for our aniversary. She got a steak dinner, I got a silver dollar. For some reason, you don't see too many of the 1935 for sale anywhere.
I don't collect Peace $'s, per se. The only ones I have in my collection actually came from a slot machine. The Cal Neva Casino in Reno, NV has three old mechanical macines which pay out silver dollars. The machines cost 25c per "pull" and the only time it pays is when ther silver dollar symbol lines up on the pay line. You can win from 1-5 silver dollars on each pull of the old one-armed bandits. It took me $80 in quarters to win 13 silver dollars. It's pretty much random whether you would get a Morgan or a Peace, and the casino began adding SAE's to two of the machines to replace the dwindling supply of the old cartwheels. On the top of each machine is a glass case filled with silver dollars, and I remember that one of the machines had an 1893 in the case. I couldn't see the reverse so I don't know what mintmark it was, but the obverse looked to be VF. It's been five years since I was there, so I don't know if they are still there or not. Chris
What about a 1927P? We have not seen a 1927P so far in this thread, so here are some pics of my 1927P Peace dollar (which I believe is a serious sleeper coin ). I love the design on these coins and am trying to learn how to grade this series. Anyone want to take a guess at the grade? TC
is it just me, or does 63 seem like a very generous grading on this one? (i am an amateur...this is a question, nothing more)
