Here's a controversial one that got me a lot of hate and threats on other forums. Looks more PL in hand than I can show with a phone video. Not sure if it will cross but we shall see one day soon.

I think you need some good pictures to do it justice. I've never seen a Peace Dollar go PL, but I can see that is a stunning strike. Would love to see something like that in person!

Why the confrontation on the coin?

Some people with emotions about other people's coins apparently cannot control those emotions I guess? Not sure. Found it odd and funny.

I can see possible pl fields on it the few times you tilted the coin at a far angle sideways from the light source and away from the camera. Why would you not leave it in the old anacs holder? They are collectable all on their own. I get it though, if you can get it into a current pcgs pl slab by today's pl standards it will probably increase the value. I just hope you didn't crack it out incase they don't agree.

I have never seen a PL Peace dollar before. Quite an interesting coin! Just leave it be.

As I told Cascade the coin is a predicament for me. I am a peace dollar collector and in hand I am satisfied the coin reaches PL reflectivity. So I'm fine with it in the Anacs holder as I also like them quite a bit. But the value increase in an ngc slab with pl designation is substantial and hard to ignore. Should I ever need to sell my collection this coin in an ngc slab would yield 3~5x what I paid for it, which was a substantial premium in and of itself. I also think the coin is ms 63 though that is inconsequential.

Additionally I posted the coin to show it as a noop and I was bombarded with hate, harrassment and was even told to kill myself in a pm lol. There would be great satisfaction in ngc agreeing with me and Anacs.

I just jumped over to Collectors Corner and checked out their more than 1,000 Peace listings. Not a single one turns up PL or DMPL.

What's a noop and what lead to a pm telling you to kill yourself over this and what forum was it? Color me intrigued about all the hate

You will find less than 5 if you search the entire history of auctions at every auction ever. I think NGC has 3 graded total. I have heard estimates of 5 at ANACs but includes the 3 that ended up at NGC

Noop = new purchase. I would post the thread but I believe it was deleted at PCGS. Basically some d-bag named Crypto, who has claimed himself expert in Peace dollars but is an ignorant dumas constantly making wrong statements about them, has had it out for me since I started putting my toned Peace dollar collection together. We have clashed before, but in regards to this particular dollar, he had posted years ago having seen the coin in hand and confirming it was a PL coin(information among others who viewed it in hand that I used in deciding to pull the trigger when the price dropped from $5k to under$2k after it sat on ebay for sale at 5k for like 5 years), but once I owned it his postings alluded to the coin not being PL and calling it polished, again having it out for me for who knows what reason. I believe he is banned everywhere.

I suspect most of the posters like your buddy have never collected a coin in their lives.

Got this today out of junk silver for $20. Common date, definitely lightly circulated but hard to resist.

That one has an interesting grade. Its a 64 but has a star. I am not sure if the star is for the boomy luster, or some kind of compenstation for being a 65 all there but for the giant bag mark
