I like this '25 a lot, Rusty... although I can't agree that it's "Unc", I can say that the cleaning doesn't look harsh and could easily go unnoticed. Ever attempted to cross it to PCGS? They might say the surfaces are "market acceptable".
A newp of mine! Our own Lance (lkeigwin) really captured its originality with his top-notch imaging. The color accuracy is truly impeccable! :thumb: Soft reverse strike, but that's typical of almost all 1809s. I believe it was due to metal-flow issues. I don't mind it much, though.
In hand there very little wear , mostly a weak strike but there is wear thus you're right it shouldn't be Unc details . But sending it to PCGS is a good thought as there is cartwheel luster on both sides with a slight break above the eagles head .
Such an awesome coin, Lance! Never get sick of seeing it. :thumb: Someone must be happy with the arm and leg you traded for her!
Some nice colors on this one, although the surfaces aren't totally "original" like I'm used to. If I could find a similar-grade example with a nice, brown, well-developed patina, I'd due a straight swap for this one all day. But alas, this is a tough coin to find w/ such wholesome originality. CBH guys know what I mean.
