I like this '25 a lot, Rusty... although I can't agree that it's "Unc", I can say that the cleaning doesn't look harsh and could easily go unnoticed.

Ever attempted to cross it to PCGS? They might say the surfaces are "market acceptable".

Our own Lance (lkeigwin) really captured its originality with his top-notch imaging. The color accuracy is truly impeccable! :thumb:

Soft reverse strike, but that's typical of almost all 1809s. I believe it was due to metal-flow issues. I don't mind it much, though.

 

In hand there very little wear , mostly a weak strike but there is wear thus you're right it shouldn't be Unc details . But sending it to PCGS is a good thought as there is cartwheel luster on both sides with a slight break above the eagles head .

Type set nickel. I normally am not a fan of the Liberty "V" nickels, but this one isn't so bad.

 

Beautiful 1807 , looks high AU what did she grade at ?

Yes, there have been some really nice coins posted.

 

Some nice colors on this one, although the surfaces aren't totally "original" like I'm used to. If I could find a similar-grade example with a nice, brown, well-developed patina, I'd due a straight swap for this one all day.

But alas, this is a tough coin to find w/ such wholesome originality. CBH guys know what I mean.
