    Love this thread! Not sure if I have a more circulated coin in my collection than this one. Seated Liberty Quarter... 1860 S. Mintage is only 56,000. Long story as to how I got it but it didn't cost me more than 3 bucks. Not too bad eh? :)

    That 1860 could tell some stories.. perhaps carried with someone thru the whole war...

    I wondered the same thing when I got it. It is a rare coin as the survival numbers of those 1860's low mintage coins isn't very high. When you do see one on ebay or teletrade they go for a pretty penny. In the condition mine is they can get over $200. In certified G4 they're around 700. A recent one on teletrade in F12 fetched $2450. I don't think I'd ever sell it though...$200 comes and goes but a coin with character like this one is rare. :)

    I'm pretty sure it's silver. The back is completely smooth. It's the poorest condition coin I have. Anyone know what it is?
