This is the most circulated Lincoln cent I have seen to date. This coin came out of my Dads hoard of wheats and I kept it because I think it amazing a coin could make so many transactions. Much harder to survive that way than being slipped in a folder 100 years ago for safe keeping. Actually pretty problem free for the low grade and I think that the rims must protect a lot and when they are gone scratches can really dig in. Later, Matt
Great thread Log Potato :thumb: ! I came across some neat things today and will post this weekend after I get pics, but it's so much fun to look at everyone else's finds (that are way cooler by the way lol!)
Nice IHC! But tell your friend to treat the verdigris or PVC before it corrodes the coin underneath. Lance.
...Still and admirable piece in my mind! FANTASTIC THREAD IDEA! -Brian PS: Sorry about the dark photos. I need to do some editing in the upcoming weeks... Which will most likely turn into months knowing my schedule.
Oh, I'm going to like this thread! Can't wait to get home from work! (Sorry, just trying to subscribe to it.)
Did I hear in passing that there is a low number registry category? Isn't it called the "race to the bottom" where people are paying large premiums for low grade coins so they can have one of the lowest scores in a registry category? I sort of like the idea of a low grade registry, just not the paying more part. What will they think of next? Whatever keeps it interesting. Some of the coins posted so far would do well in one of those sets!
