Do you realize that if we really had transporters, we could program them to transport most of us and leave extra fat and artery plaque behind to drop on the Enterprise's floor. Time to transport to bed !!! Jim
Wow, I can see the circular sweep lines..but barely! Usually the place it is easy to see, like on the surface of the stars is hard to see in the photos! Jim
Whizzing is a process where the coin is buffed in order to simulate cartwheel luster. Luster results from light reflecting off the flow lines created on the surface of the coin during the minting process. Once the coin wears the flow lines are worn away and the luster is gone. Whizzing mechanically recreates luster by moving the metal on the surface, thereby basically recreating the effect seen by the flow lines. Whizzing is usually accomplished by using a high speed drill with an attachment. And for the record, I have never actually whizzed a coin. I bought this Barber already whizzed for low AU money. I knew it was a problem coin when I bought it, but it was still very attractive so I pulled the trigger. I doubt I could get my money back if I sold it, but it is a very educational piece.
nice post but i was hoping you had used the machine and configured it yourself that would be truly educational. thank god we dont see whizzing for indian coins.
