Yes it does, even more so when you put it that way. They just offered me a refund, minus shipping costs, and I have to pay return shipping. I really shouldn't accept it, but what happens then? At this point I'm almost inclined to just eat the costs, so they don't get the opportunity to try to sell them again.
I believe if you open a case with ebay (with stated reason that the item is counterfeit), you may be able to return and be reimbursed return shipping. Not 100% sure if it still works this way. The seller really should put up the return shipping in situations where they have sold a counterfeit or defective product without stating so.
That's what's making me apprehensive about returning them. If I keep them, I lose, but if I return them, it is likely that someone else (who might not even realize it) will.
If the seller relists them even after being informed they are fake, please post it on this forum along with a link.
Do send them back. Ebay should cover you as they are suspect counterfeit and the seller agrees with you. Have you checked them out as to what the metal is? Stick to a magnet? Could be pewter? Does look like a cast copy.
I haven't figured out what metal they are at the moment. They aren't magnetic, however. The Philippine one looks remarkably silver-like, however at this point I highly doubt they are silver.
I have a Whites 6000DI metal detector that takes the quess work out of anything that doesn't stick to a rare earth magnet.
