There is a 'person' claiming to be French (she never answered on CU whether she was IN France or not), using the name 'Colette', who just joined CU and NGC on Friday, and was trying to sell a raw 1915-S $20 Saint. For a total newbie, 'she' knew how to post a link to a picture hosting site (which set off anti-virus protection for a number of users). Now, on the many sites I'm on, even those that have been around for awhile don't know how to do this (not knocking anyone, but for some it's difficult, or they just don't know). This person also knew enough to 'bump' 'her' BST thread on CU. A new member doesn't know these things.

Also, 'she' is unwilling to say whether Paypal is accepted. 'She' is unwilling to send the coin first (noone in their right mind would send a brand new member, with NO referrences, $1,300 for a coin) for fear of being ripped off....yet 'she' expects long-standing members to trust 'her' and send payment first....she refuses to send coin first for fear of being ripped off.

There has been much discussion about it in this thread on CU http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=808532 . The writing style is that of a half (quarter?) literate Craigslister, and can be nothing more than a scam. The claim that 'she' could find noone to give her an idea of a price on it (has to be bull...certainly, there could have been at LEAST one person to tell her how much it's worth in France....U.S. coins ARE sold overseas, as World coins are sold here in the U.S.....certainly someone there could have an idea...but as I said, she would not say whether she was IN France or not). 'She' claims 'she' went to a few websites to try to get a value on it, but it appears 'she' only went to CU and NGC (here's the NGC post http://boards.collectors-society.com/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=4642893#Post4642893. )

So, after the red flags, joining both CU and NGC on the same day, just to sell it, this looks to be a classic scammer. So, just giving a heads-up, as once this person gets no action on CU 'BST', or the NGC 'Money Marketplace' boards (certainly noone in their right mind will buy it at either site), I'm guessing 'Colette' will try it here. So, just be on the lookout....
