Actually, the small date and large date are not only different sizes but placed slightly differently on the die.

You'll have to compare a Large Date to a Small Date to see the spaces to the bust and to the edge. Then you'll start seeing the Major differences between the two and conclude that a large over small or vice versa would be plainly evident.

Nice! Worth twenty-five cents US. DDD Try starting a new thread for each additional coin or question to get more opinions. Many members won’t read a long thread to find it.

I actually superimposed them and the small date is narrower at the base and and the large date is taller than the small but in my pictures the taller 2 looks like a shadow(8to) and at the bottom where it looks like it took a hit is the difference in the width as far as the back curve goes it kinda canceles most of it out but you can still c it . I just didn't throw this out there I've really done my research and capared over and over and over

Just Mechanical Doubling.. Not a Doubled Die of any kind.. I don't search for nor desire Doubled Die varieties. Most are minor and not interesting to me. I stick to major mint errors.

Major mint errors are mechanical striking errors -

Double Strikes, Off Centers, Off metals, etc.

Die errors are Doubled Dies, repunched Mintmarks, etc.

The vast majority of 'doubling' on coins of all denominations
are ejection doubling, die deterioration doubling (worn or
overused dies) and are not Doubled Dies.

There are only 2 kinds of responses you can get.. The truth or a big lie.. Which would you rather hear?

this site is worthless as could be if even one single lie impressed. I love this site for that. This is a "no butthurt zone". If you do indeed get butthurt, there are other coin sites that will cuddle you and tell you what you want to hear...and there are some great coins to buy on Etsy as well! I on occasion supervise culture grows for phase trials...I could only imagine what would happen if I had a colony of ebola virus but told the docs it was Adeno virus and to have at it. Like my Dad always told me "tell me the truth NOT what you want me to hear".

I don't get what you are saying. Nobody has been rude at all. Why are you even complaining? We are here to help not to lead you astray.. If you keep it up members will ignore your future posts.

Fred Weinberg gave you a great response. He is a renowned Mint Error specialist. I have been collecting errors for 34 years and I also specialize in the field. Many other members also know their stuff. So please don't shoot us down.

Your not the only one with disappointments in life. We are here to talk about coins not our personal issues.
