hey guys it’s been a while but I recently picked up an Thracian hemidrachm. It looked fine and had a good weight but I notice this copper looking tarnish on the edges. Could you help me out? P.S sorry for blurry photos my Camera won’t focus
My guess is that it's an electrotype. If so, and it's filled with copper, it would likely weigh about 15% less than you'd normally expect.
