Damn, the anti-counterfeit dude wrote me again: "Thanks. The Anti-counterfeiting Task Force will initiate an investigation and coordinate with Treasury OIg and Secret Service." Really? The secret service?!

The Secret Service investigates all counterfeiting of money and stamps. It's part of their job description and has been for a very long time.

Actually, the Secret Service won't investigate this. They are only concerned with current, circulating currency, and not collector's pieces. I went through this a couple of years ago (2017) with a fake Trade Dollar, and spoke with an agent in my local SS office (Tampa), and was told the above.

As for whether or not the Treasury Dept will do anything, I have no idea.

Actually, that has changed in the past 3 years when the ACTF made them aware just how many $100 bills these things are worth.

Lincoln formed the Secret Service as an anti-counterfeiting body

That's certainly a bit of good news in the fight!

Anything is possible on Etsy - steer clear (at least eBay has a bit of integrity)

I AM SUPRISED!! You can't possibly think that ETSY would allow dishonest people to advertise on their fine site. How cynical!!! p.s. I just published an ad for a slightly used bridge if anyone is interested>

I'd be interested if it's located in Brooklyn. :D

In etsy's defense, it is a site to list your hand-crafted goods, soooooooo.....

I can see the 1 example. But how can I tell paper characteristics. Can you explain. Learning always. Just learned for @paddyman98 no lamination error after 1982 cents. That was huge to me. Now maybe asking you fill my head

The seller in question from the OP is erased. They're no longer are selling on Etsy under the name Coin Creed.

With that said, now we have this one. https://www.etsy.com/shop/LuckyWealth?ref=l2-about-shopname

Same fake coins. Same city and state CC was located.

When I get home from work. It's time to report this crook.

I reported Coin Creed and I got an email back on 7/28/20 saying: "Thanks. The Anti-counterfeiting Task Force will initiate an investigation and coordinate with Treasury OIg and Secret Service."

I will write back and report this new name.
