Possible doubled die ? Please advise

    That's a worn die strike. You can clearly see the striations on the field. Worn die strikes cause die deterioration doubling. Considered Worthless doubling which has nothing to do with a true Doubled Die variety.

    But.. I'm thinking the S in CENTS has a possible Die Chip.

    Thanks Paddyman. I can see what I thought was a die chip too. Just seems to be a nice curved arc above it. That"s why I wanted some one else to eye ball it.

    I get what your saying. Could you please see attached enhanced photo and fine tune the explanation for me?
    Do the two red lines outline the chip ? If so,
    what lies between the two yellow lines ? The curve between the yellow lines seem to go up and over the lower half of the s . WIN_20200226_05_54_48_Pro.jpg

    Possibly something also to do with the worn die also.
