So this thread is siliquae that one regrets not buying in the past? Okay here's mine. I did submit a written mail bid for it but that day my wife scheduled something for me to do so I was unable to bid live & was blown out of the water with my cheap bid. Still siliquae generally never sell for crazy figures. This one is Constantine III.

I do have one siliquae which is of Valens. This one was bought from a Stack's mail bid sale, 2007, lot 866, at an average price for these. Of course this is a very common coin. Now that I look at the pix: it isn't too bad. I wanted Valens in particular for his role in losing the battle at Hadrianopolis and sealing the fate of the Western Roman Empire. Here the engraver crowded the whole "DN VALENS" on one side of the coin: with obvious results. See below.

I have never bought a coin on EBay which I did not return. It's almost a point of honor anymore. Of course the things that I didn't buy/ lost at auction end up in the hundreds of pieces and are really nice.
