Do you have a photo of a "small bead" for a side-by-side comparison? I'd prefer a photo of the same size, if possible. Chris
Thanks for the prompt reply! It looks like a large bead to me. I don't collect Canadian coinage, so can you tell me what the significance is between the two? Chris
Year AG-3 G-4 VG-8 F-12 VF-20 EF-40 AU-50 1965 - Small Beads - - - - - $ 0.10 $ 1.50 1965 - Large Beads - - - - $ 500 $ 980 $ 1 400 looks like a large bead to me also here is a breakdown on value and condition....
Sorry, looks like I got hung up on the initial pics where I could only see the Obverse and not the Reverse, and I thought it was a cent. When the other pics came, I still was thinking cent and did not notice it was a nickel. My mistake.
Looks like a large bead from your pics, but you should also determine how many beads are on it. The Large Bead version has 138 Beads, and the Small Bead version has 119. That is enough of a difference to use it to confirm so that die wear is not contributing to your decision.
The Large Bead value goes from 150.00 for VF20 to 3000.00 for MS64 according to the 2009 Canadian Coins book.
