Dion, Regarding your question, I think pictures are worth a 1,000 words. Here are photos of an MS65 1939 Doubled Monticello Jefferson Nickel and a circulated Doubled Monticello Jefferson Nickel. I hope this helps you!
That does help Lehigh as that one is very noticeable on the O's and the E's have a very thick main vertical. Most of the stuff I have is what I collected as a kid and starting to get back into collecting, but most items are circulated.
Here are some closer images of the doubling on this dies coins. http://imgs.inkfrog.com/pix/coop49/1939_DDR_Nickel_JHS_images.jpg
new pics I took some more pics for confirmation and I believe that it is the DDO-006 for this year. It has all the markers to confirm this. Die gouge behind the 9 and die crack along right dome window that puts it at Stage B for this variety. Does anyone have an idea what this coin goes for. I think it would fit in the AU-50 to MS-60 grade. IMO Also, I checked the eye for doubling and don't see any evidence of it.
I recently found an almost entire coin doubled even the face and nose 1943 S bu war nickel very nice doubling what's it worth if you know
