I agree, but my point was that you never go into a car restoration project thinking you're going to make a profit. It's almost always cheaper to buy someone else' dream. Then you can sport around in it like you did all the work. That's what I'm gonna do next time.
I think we made it clear in an earlier thread that having your ashes and coins shot into deep space would be a risk due to alien interception. I have made it clear in my estate documents that i want all my coins melted and restruck with my portrait on the obverse and on the reverse, in greek, latin and american the salutation "Howdy, Aliens!" The rocket deal is back on!
I just bought a 99 Taurus SE for my daughter to drive to college. Basically got it as a base, for a few hundred dollars, but I replaced a bunch of the gaskets to shore up the oil leaks, replaced the water pump, flushed the transmission and put on new drums and shoes on the rear. It drives pretty well, but I can smell a little exhaust in the cabin - gotta get under there and see what's leaking. I'm thinking over the summer I'll drop in a new cylinder head.
Sweet => that's a very cool story, Bing => man, you sound like a valuable fella (my hat goes-off to you dudes that can restore vehicles) ... ... sadly, I am absolutely useless at most of the "blue-chores" (luckily, my hot wife is all about the blue-chores => she looks after the electrical and mechanical fixes => yah, my role is to merely treat her right, keep her laughing, cook like a fricken pro-chef, and bring home the bacon!!) ... I am the perfect wife!!
