Been a while since I have checked out the collection! Really like the notes from Brazil (really nice design elements and color combinations) and like the 2007 UK note with the holographic strip - that looks really cool!

    Best Regards

Hello all, been a lurker of this forum for a while and have just started to collect banknotes. I am picking up around 40 different polymer ones and they are on their way now. Most of them are the more common polymers that are widely available but I figured this would be a good way to get my feet wet. The one note that I really want is the Northern Ireland $5 Polymer that has the space shuttle on it. I saw that a couple members have managed to get one. So far I have only managed to find 1 on eBay for about $50 US shipped which seems high. What did you guys roughly pay for yours and do you know any place I could get one for cheaper?

    Thanks !

Also what type of books or storage do you guys use for your polymer banknotes?

    Thanks

    welcome to the forum gangsta99!!

you might be intersted in posting a 'hello' thread in the introduction part of the site :) that way you can tell us about yourself.. and the intriguing nickname you picked.

as for books or storage .. i use mylar sleeves (do a search for that here and yiou will find an excellent thread about them) and then they are grouped together by country and placed in a metal lock box using precut lexan as a seperator. these metal lockboxes then get put inside a large safe complete with all the appropriate safe guards for it :D

Your note collection is amazing. Such beautiful colors put U.S. notes to shame. I'd love to collect both types but the expense and the vast quantity of coins I collect is plenty for now.

Got my first few polymers in the mail the past couple days. Got the $1, $2, and $3 Antarctica from the newest release and 8 different polymers from Zambia. Waiting on my bigger orders to come in now. I also got 3 dozen more 2008 SAEs and a dozen 2008 Silver Maples in the mail. These coins just aren't as interesting as the world notes. :)

Still no luck with getting that Northern Ireland $5 Y2K Polymer. Only ones up on eBay are for $45 to $99 which is too much it sounds like. You guys have any good sites other than those two listed above that sell them? Both sites want about $40 to $45 USD for that note.
