You to Rickieb. Wow that is a stunner. Had to check and see if I was looking at the original RickieB. Though it would be nice to have platinum reverse proof but since they have announced this version will be a 1/2 ounce coin, I am not so sure. I do wish they could have made the reverse proof platinum in a one ounce coin for some of us old people who can not see as well as we use to. I like to see as much detail in a coin as possible without a magnifying glass. I have absolutely nothing against 1/2 ounce coins but to me it would have been nice to have this reverse proof platinum in a one ounce coin to go along with the gold and silver reverse proof. Maybe the mint could have made a one ounce reverse proof platinum as part of the set and considered the super box they come in as part of the set. That would have been a two thing set right?

Anyhow, I assume that if one wants to have them certified , then they will have to be sent in the original government box to a TPG to have them slabbed and graded, first striked and all that stuff. I know this is not for everyone but lots of people are. If one is fortunate enough to get a 70 then great. I probably will be checking the secondary market to see if I can get one but as AUBU2 said, a 70 grade reverse proof may cost more than the original set. From what I have read about platinum coins , 30,000 sets is a whole bunch. One may be able to get a reverse proof at a reasonable cost down the road but who knows. If they are not what I consider reasonable then that is just fine. Will move on to something else. Still would like to get a nice short set of walkers. Strange other than my annual mint and proof sets, all my recent purchases have been the somewhat classic coins.

Bottom line is I may get this set from the mint but probably will not.
