I'm in the zero category. My coin purchases have always been with play money and not investments, so I could never justify the expense. My wife technically owns three gold Thai coins now, so that makes me a joint owner right? but they're in a bank box in Bangkok and I've never seen them in person.

If you fertilize that stack can you grow it before you shrink it?

“Fertilized chocolate” does not sound good.

Close to 70 one ounce coins, either kruegerands or AGE. Another 20 or so tenth ounce AGE, working on a date set. Not sure about my Early Dated pieces. Probably around 35. Lord M didn't ask, I have around 400+ ASE. About $300 face 90%.

Now that I'm home I will share of a few of my favorites. It turns out I have more than I thought.

Chile 1845 8 Escudos (purchase because I saw @panzerman show a nice uncirculated one)

Does anyone (@lordmarcovan) know anyone that has ever dug a gold coin metal detecting? That would have to be like the ultimate high.

I'd bet that with those 3 coins and your wife, you realize having 4 Golden pieces!

My local detecting mentor found two on the same site near the waterfront in our town. They were from vastly different eras. One was a 1781 Spanish Mexico City escudo. The other was a lovely 1907 US $10 Liberty. I have also heard of an 1888 $5 being found on Saint Simons Island (on a site which produced two 1700s Spanish reales for me). And there is a possibility that a 1766(?) British gold Guinea with an Ephraim Brasher ("EB") counterstamp (!!!) was found here, though I cannot confirm it.

I just "graduated" to a second safe-deposit drawer. No freestanding safes at home. Most of my stuff is not kept at home anyway.

We agree that you're a wise generous respected man, who has enriched many just by your presence here! JMHO!
