I bet they offer the dime again in a three coin set - their ad for the dime left that option open and it wouldn't be the first time they pulled that one.

Has it ever been done before? I doubt it.

Or this too. Forgot about the 3 coin set option. That's what I was hoping it was gonna be when announced last year

With all this talk about additional mintage above the 125k previous set maximum, is there actually precedent for this?

They put one of the ASEs in the 2012 set in the Coin and Currency set later in the year which no one was aware was going to happen until it did.

What was the mintage limit for the Proof S vs the product limit for the 2012 silver eagle set? Was the original mintage limit for either silver eagle exceeded? I believe there was never a maximum mintage figure set for the eagle set, only a limited ordering window. Without a set maximum, they have the option to continue to use the coin for other products. The gold dime on the other hand had a predetermined maximum mintage limit regardless of what products it was used in.

If I recall correctly it was mint to demand. They had obviously planned out the later set already and decided not to say anything until long after sales had concluded. It may not be an identical precedent but they have re-released products when the mintage wasn't capped by the authorizing law.

Actually, the mint reported earlier in the year that their option to do this might be exercised.......no one took heed.
