I saw an S in-hand...... All's i have is a 10x magnifier .

Edit: never mind, original post fixed now.

 

I'm pretty sure I've got dateless Type 3 SLQs -- can't read the date, but can tell it was recessed -- that clearly show a mint mark. You could be right and I could be wrong here, but I'm not changing my mind just yet.

Edit: Okay, maybe now. I've looked through a short stack of heavily-worn SLQs, and I've found at least one Type 3 where the mint mark is a lot weaker than the date. So I'm back to "can't tell" instead of "Philly".

 

Fair enough, ill hafta try and find a FR2 AG3 27S with good images. Stand by

 

Does ANYBODY have an AG3 or FR2 (preferably) '27 S for comparison? I found a few AG3 online but they dont show as much wear in the target area.

I think i can make out an S but yours is hard to see as well. I DO see the bottom star which, you cant make out on my specimen
