    Just picked up this 1797 1/2 Grossus from Poland. These European coins from the 1600-1700's I have been getting into lately, very affordable for the age and some interesting designs and monograms.

    I would say, it is East Prussia.

    Hmm, the coin says BORUSS· MERID·, and that would be South Prussia (Borussia Meridionalis). Yes, the FW monogram is what the Prussian king Friedrich Wilhelm II used, and the B mintmark refers to Breslau (pl: Wrocław). But around here borders are or were somewhat flexible. ;)

    East Prussia is technically in Poland, or was (Before end of WWII), Prussia was dissolved in 1947
