I just bought this 1.5-inch brass "challenge coin" (token) for @Aethelred, since he likes monkeys, and I liked the Polish saying on here. (And the crazy monkeys, of course).

Not in the date range of your thread but related. My wife's family on her mothers side is German. Her Grandfather was from Mazury, was East Prussia, now Poland. His family name Makrutski. My wife's mother and aunt travelled there in 2008 to see the area he was from. These coins were obtained while there. The only Polish coins I have

I know this is an old thread, but I have come across some coins in the inherited hoard from Poland. Poland sure did mint some pretty coins.
