Luck is good!! The only W I've found came in change. But I don't hunt quarters so it's the only way I'm going to find one.
Started to sort through the latest collection of change from the past few weeks. I think I had around 30 dimes and in that mix, I found this. Close to 2019-P DDR-001 (varietyvista.com), but maybe not since finger feeder scrapes are missing and the doubling looks a tad less significant. Some quick pics...
I was at a Biloxi casino earlier in the week and hit a hand pay jackpot. The attendant gave me a low mintage 2009-D dime as part of the payout. That certainly was a bonus win!
I have not found a 2009D as I recall. I could be wrong but I’ve found only 3-4 2009 dimes in the wild.
Just realized that this page has a Rosie Dime theme going. I have a few dollars of change to check yet that I accumulated over the last couple of weeks. And a bunch of dimes...
I've got seven stacks of coins sitting on my table next to my laptop and they're calling out to me but I just haven't had the time this week to look through them!
The Rosie's remain hot for some reason!! No complaints from me if the silver keeps finding its way to me. Many roll searchers haven't been as lucky as I've been the past couple of weeks. I can't recall the last time I saw a 2009 P or D...so it's seemingly as scarce as catching silver from the wild. I'm wondering if others are seeing anything amongst their quarters, nickels, and cents?! Dimes continue to be lucky!
Here's the only one I have after going through probably close to 100 dimes in my change can this past week. The lighting isn't the best...kind of makes it look toned but it's very shiny in person.
That looks like a great specimen to snag from the wild. Most of my 2009 nickels are circulated grades with a very few in the AU range. I'd be happy with that specimen of yours!
Today my 10 year old Grandson presented to me this gem, a 1939 (my birth year) Wheatie! He found it this month on an asphalt path at summer camp. Remembering my birth year, he saved it for me. How cool is that? It looks to me to be an EF-45. What are your thoughts regarding the grade?
@love old coins - private message me (PM me?) and we'll see what we can do together. I'm in California - east SF Bay area. I have the opposite of your problem. Ds are plentiful; Ps are rare.
My thoughts concerning the grade? Considering where it came from, I would give it....... PF 1,000,000 Nothing could be sweeter than to receive something from someone's heart. He gave you that coin out of love for his PawPaw. I would hold it and keep it and cherish it forever, just as I am doing with the 2 brightly colored shield pennies my twin grandsons gave to me. They were about 5 and didn't know anything about coin collecting except that "PawPaw collects pennies". So, one day, together, they came to me and presented me with a bright and shiny shield cent from each of them. I put them in flips, marked them up with the date and source, and still have them and will always have them. Count yourself lucky to have such a kind and caring Grandson, just as I do with mine.
Ok - going to break my theme. I picked this up in change today along with a half dollar. The sound when handed to me was different and thought maybe silver in the exchange. But it was just the half dollar that triggered the look. But the reeds on this quarter got my attention after that -
