Only if the date and mint can be identified from the rest of the coin. If no one has a clue what date it is it can't be graded
Some early coins, like the Wreath Cent above, can be attributed without a readable date. I have seen at least one Chain cent that is slick on both sides except for a visible reverse cud that identifies the variety.
The 1916 Standing Liberty quarter can be identified w/o a date. I've seen them sell by Heritage for $1,000 or more.
Another great example are Canadian silver dollars of George V. Only minted in two years the 1935 had a special text for the 25th year of the George’s rule these have outlasted dates at times.
A lot of one off types can. The A&R silver the small eagle quarter the no stars dime and half dime if it doesn’t have a mintmark. Or even if it does 1859 ihc and a bunch more can be identified
