As just one example, this coin listed as an MS67, has obviously been polished: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=230219884335&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=013
That is one HORRIBLY polished "MS67" coin! Nothing but junk silver and that's debatable. Let the questions begin. clembo
Question for seller I broke my own rules after I saw the MS67 that Mark Feld showed. "How does one get in touch with NAC. "I have some AU Morgans and a brillo pad. Need the MS67 grade. An obviously polished coin. Would you really treat your family like that?"
If everyone asks about the same coin, it would be easy for him to figure out what is going on and ignore those questions. If everyone asks about a different coin, he cannot ignore them because it may be a serious buyer and he might lose their business
Based on his listings, I don't think he has any interest in doing business with people who have a clue about coins - he prays upon those who don't know much of anything about grading, values, etc.
I just got a reply from this guy. He said he was going to report me to eBay for harrasement and have my account suspended. He also let me know he was a big shot Platinum Power Seller. What a joke!
Good point Rim and one I hadn't thought of (obviously). Now if everyone asks a lot of questions about a lot of coins he figures it out. The real meaning is to let guys like this know that they ARE being watched. I'm sure my question will be ignored but what if he got 100? He's going to at least read them. This takes valuable time that could be spent listing more garbage. Eventually they break as it were. It's like that sliver you get on your fingertip that is so small you can't see it but rub it the wrong way and it hurts like hell. Yeah, I want to be that sliver.
Either I have worn out my welcome reporting listings to eBay (very likely), or they have stopped taking action. I currently have (guesstimate) over 500 listings reported since last Friday that they have not responded to. Just to see what is going on, could someone please report the following coins (all by coinmadz): 230221106838, 220200279041, 220200279058, 230221106880, 320216283678, 220200279102, 220200279117, 230221106928, 230221106939, 230221106947 Concern listed as: A raw or uncertified coin is defined as any coin not graded by one of the authorized grading companies. Sellers are permitted to list these items on eBay under the following conditions: * The grading company or price guide is not referenced in the title or description. At least if they pull them for you, then I will know what has happened.
Geez its just awful how this guy completely misrepresents every single coin he sells. It seems to me he has some type of feedback generator, if you look at the feedback carefully the same person will always leave mulitple feedbacks in a row. Its just suspicious that each time someone buys something from him they buy at least 5 coins at a time. The patterns just don't make sense and the actual text of many feedback doesn't make any sense I have reported him also for many of his listing but it seems like he is scamming ebay as well as the customers. If ebay allows this type of activity after it has been brought to their attention, and if no action is taken ebay is technically hurting themselves as well. It may be illegal for ebay to knowingly let this continue. Furthermore it is funny how everytime he gets a negative comment he threatens a lawsuit. With all the time this guy spends in court how in the world does he find time to send all those coins out. I think we should give him a taste of his own medicine.
First welcome to the forum. I doubt he spends any time in court though. After all if leaving a negative were illegal would it be an option? He can threaten all he wants but if I were to buy from him (a cold day you know where) I'd drop a negative in his lap in a minute. Can you imagine a judge's reaction if that actually went to court? "Well your honor clembo here actually told the truth". "I sentence you to thirty lashes with a wet noodle and no Sponge Bob for a month clembo. Bailiff take him away!" I don't know if you've been watching the forum for a while or just found it and signed on. Either way, welcome as I said and keep reading. You'll see a lot discussion about sellers like this. clembo
Looks like they finally started policing again. So far they have pulled ~35 auctions from coinmadz and I just received 30 emails (10 listings each) from eBay about the auctions they have pulled.
Nac As I stated earlier today in another chat, NAC and Coinmadz are owned by the same person, (see Pa Dept of State Corporations). This guy slabs and sells his coins and gets rid of negative feedback by threatening suit to those who give such feedback. He may also be operating under the seller name coinsandstuf....both sellers are located in Hellertown Pa and structure and wording in the ebay items are very similar. Both sellers vend NAC slabs.
I asked coinmadz a question about his coins being cleaned and he replied with a sarcastic remark. (See thread I opened about a month ago). He blocked me from bidding on his coins. Now, that really hurt my feelings. He is dishonest with regards to his coin grading descriptions. He deserves to be expelled from ebay but he generates too much money for their coffers. The only thing we can do is keep an eye on his auctions and report them each & every time they are dishonest, misleading or just wrong. Bruce
