I also remember seeing one of those massive Roman Republic cast bronzes with the double headed Janus (sorry Republican collectors I don't remember the name). That was definitely cool to see in person. Needless to say I didn't bother inquiring how much it was!

That's an aes grave as(pronounced "ice gra-way ass"). They are some seriously impressive coins.

 

Yeah, I saw it at the show. Made me want one, but I'm sure I could find it far cheaper at an auction or through an online dealer. I'd love to own one of those hockey pucks eventually.

As far as the shooting, awful stuff. Authorities knew this guy was severely mentally ill and a danger to the public for many months, yet did nothing to take his guns away or commit him to a facility. Totally avoidable. Used to be that states had excellent mental health facilities, but in the last 30 years they gutted them. So these days they simply let the insane wander the streets and hope for the best, and deal with them only after they kill someone else. That is a broken system.
