Wow, I have a 1935 ms-65 buffalo PCGS, and yours has a way better strike, and equal or better condition.
Don't be surprised if you have trouble finding coins as nice as Doug's, he has a fabulous eye for coins, I envy their beauty ever time he posts one! IIRC, National Dealer used to always say that too.
The grades have been added to my first post of 4 coins. I think you guys are getting fooled into too conservative grading because of the oversized pics. I'll give you smaller ones this time and see if you're not more accurate. Here are another 4 for you: Coin #5 was graded by PCGS MS 63: Coin #6 was graded by PCGS AU 58: Coin #7 was graded by PCGS PR 64: Coin #8 was graded by PCGS VF 30: Have fun...Mike
I'm going to guess 64 on the commem, 65 on the barber, 62 on the seated liberty quarter, and xf-45 on the half.
Edit: whoops, I didn't read the first post all the way through. This one isn't slabbed, so I'll remove the pics Here's an 1853 half cent from my collection.
I had a hard time with the gold piece. I have the darnest time with any gold coin, but I'm completely new to foreign coins. :goofer:
I'm quite interested in Netherlands coins. I actually spent the good part of an hour trying to find a book solely on the topic. I mentioned before I am going to be there in about 15 days , so I am definitely going to check the bookstores : ). The netherlands coins have such neat designs, and as far as I can tell, the gold coins are all reasonably priced. I may just have to start collecting something besides morgans
Well, I just obtained my first Netherlands gold coin (well, will be soon). I hope it doesn't become a habit. I got a 1750 14 gulden piece. I am trading my dad an 1880-s ms-66 morgan dollar for it. I personally am guessing I am getting the better deal. Also, I'm not worried about getting ripped off, since the person I am trading was partly responsible for my birth. I'll post pictures as soon as I get it! I guess whenever I want a coin, I should probably inquire to my dad first it appears. He has a seemingly endless supply of coins (he's too lucky).
I posted the grades next to the pics above. The barber quarter fooled you, just like I thought it might. It is a PQ AU 58. The only way to tell is to look for the luster break/rub on the high points of the reverse. Here are a few more: Coin #9 is graded by PCGS PF 64 CAM. I've provided two photos of it: Coin #10 is graded by PCGS PF 64. Again, two photos:
Coin #11 is graded by PCGS AU 58. One photo this time: Coin #12 is graded by PCGS AU 50. Again, one photo: Have fun...Mike
Lead foot, I am guessing pr-62 on the seated, proof 63 on the barber, vf-20/25 on the quarter, and AU-50 on the half cent.
Ohhhhhh now I'm gonna have to beat ya :hammer: Ya see, I don't have one :vanish: Seriously - Congrats, they're fabulous coins :high5:
