these look Japanese. bottom 1 is 1944 looks like a 5 sen or a 10 sen. what size in millimeters is it ? it's metal is tin-zinc. the top coin looks like 1940-1941 a 10 sen metal=aluminum it is hard to tell without knowing the size in millimeters and the other side of that coin.
They're both 10 sen. That character shaped like a cross is the Chinese/Japanese character for 10. The chrysanthemum (sp?) flower is always a giveaway for Japanese coins.
The big ones are 21mm in diameter and very light, so aluminum? Almost 2mm in width and these have ridges along the outer edge. The smaller one is heavier/more 'metallic' and less 'plasticky'. It is 19mm in diameter and 1.5mm in width with no ridges.
The coin at the bottom is struck in a tin-zinc alloy, hence it sounds different from any other coins that you may have handled. All other metals were used as war metals hence the choice of such 'budget' alloy.

Nah, that's all (for now!) It's been 30+ years, but I *think* these were in the batch of Coins my dad brought back from WW2. He was never in Asia, so I guess GI's traded them or something.
