I&nbsp; originally started my collection at 7 yrs old. with Lincolns. went to Kennedys...some rosies..(not many) a few very nice mercurys....some large cents a few trade dollars a few standing wash quarters a few barbers (quarters, halves). some paper silver gold certificates (mostly,1 and 5&#039;s). 2 large note 5&#039;s a hawaiian 20 wwll. and a few seated dimes, and variety of flying eagle. pennies, some buffalos....and the mint sets from 1957 to 1976...</p><p>I went to coin auctions, and when I was 15 I worked part time in a gun and coin shop. I made a deal with the owner to pay me 1/2 in cash and 1/2 in coins.&nbsp; this wasn&#039;t a high end collection but it was affordable and enjoyable.</p><p><br /></p><p><br /></p><p>I got married in 1984... had a child money was tight..so I thought I would sell some coins. Anyway I had called my mother and asked her to send me a few so I can help with the money issue as she was holding the albums for me. I told her what I wanted and she said &quot;I don&#039;t see them&quot; only pennies. I figured she didn&#039;t know what she was looking at and I was coming down for a visit anyway. </p><p><br /></p><p>After arriving I asked her for the albums.. i found them and she was right..only pennies...THE REST WAS GONE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!</p><p><br /></p><p>We think it was my brother who had and still has some compulsive issues. needless to say this was heartbreaking and everytime I wanted to start over I just couldn&#039;t..
