Seems to be a fairly common coin in higher grades, but could you please help me grade this one. The rim is really nice and there is great detail. Little bit of smush near the hairline. Thanks for your help.
I'm comparing it to my 1893 MS64 (NGC), and I think you have a nicer coin. The detail in the hair seems to be all there, and the center sail is also full of detail, so I'm going to put 65 in this, but... am I seeing hairlines indicative of a cleaning on the reverse? Here's my 64 as a comparison:
I get the feeling from the images that it has had a baking soda treatment in its past. It might go UNC Details if sent in, so I'd just keep it around as a type piece.
Uncirculated ....I agree with some others that it has the look of being cleaned, so it's not worth being graded
