Usually the amount was in the low $10K's, sometimes 6 figures.( depending on the terms of the will, and the type of estate, some had costs to be deducted, some not). They even tried process servers. Seems that when found money is involved, the bad actors and scam artists have poisoned the well pretty thoroughly. Amazing how many people die without live people in their wills, or without anyone knowing about a will, or family. They would have to go back three generations, and 4 steps to the side to find a live one, then they would have to find half a dozen before someone would sign for the bequest.
