    1795 half Dime - OBV 3 - REV 1 - 29 July 2026 - 7 Aug 2026.png 1795 half Dime - 3 Examples of LM-3 V-2 - same as mine .png This is an interesting example of a 1795 Half Dime due to the V-shaped depression on the bust.

I was curious to see if this mark is post mint circulation damage, or something else, and found 3 other example of the same variety with this exact same mark.

Heritage describes the cause as a piece of of cloth/fabric stuck to the obverse die. Whether one tolerates or dislikes this is pretty much up to individual collector taste.

For me, it speaks of a quaint human error at the Philadelphia mint 230 years ago.

But, how would you grade this considering this?
