noticed the line of damage on this ‘95 Kennedy and dismissed it as post mint damage (See! I do pay attention to what you guys say!), but something kept pulling me back to it. So I broke out the magnifier and TO ME it appears that the Y and the T are stamped on top of the damage, indicating the damage was present beforehand.

My seeing eye dog, Roscoe, agrees with me. Is he blind too? A3810178-66AF-4CD6-A6F5-614BCC972BA3.jpeg CF1AF9C4-49AC-428A-B646-4D09A8CF1044.jpeg

It took a hit from another reeded coin.
    Not a mint error.

Agreed, and one of the better examples I've seen in a while.

Notice how those markings go into and over the rim? indicating that whatever it was occurred after minting.

What you are probably seeing, as with the "T" is that the "T" was pushed down into the damage, as you can still see the outline of it. Since the T had height and additional metal, it has to be flatten and pushed down, still having an outline of itself.

Also, two other hit areas on the neck with similar markings.
markings starting above the 2nd 9, going to the left and through the 1.
Coin Rolling machine damage clearly seen on the base of L and I; and additional scrap marks through all the large letters (it's been coin rolled a bunch of times on the end).
and a bunch of bag marks.

You can see the feeding from another coin on top of those letters.
