    Hey everyone
I was wondering would a coin with planchet flaws be considered a problem or details coin ?

From what I can tell, it depends on how bad the flaws are. If they believe that slabbing the coin would cause more problems, they will body bad it.

I have a 1918 Buffalo nickel with lamination and NGC noted it on the label .

I have a 1856-D half eagle with a reverse planchet flaw and NGC put it in a details holder, looks like a lamination to me, and errors with the planchets were common for this year and denomination, but guess it was too distracting for them to put it in a normal holder

If it was a problem coin it would be in a red holder
