Finally, Louis sought protection at the Burgundian Cout of Philip "The Good" In 1461, upon Charles VII death, Louis returned to France and was crowned King. He tried to make reforms, even though France was still at War with England (since 1337) In 1472, Charles "The Bold" succeeded Philip Le Bon as the new Duke of Burgundy, and alled himself with Edward IV of England. Louis skillfully concluded the Treaty of Picquigny in 1475 with the England thus ending the Hundred + Years War. Even better, in 1475 Charles was killed and his army annilhilated at Nancy in 1475 by the Swiss Army.
